Jumping in the air and shouting 'Weeeeee'!

A good time for jumping in the air and shouting 'weeeeee'. Just been commended in The Calderdale Short Story Competition and in The Binnacle Short Short Story competition. Got a couple of flash fiction pieces posted up at 322 Review as well. Also just discovered that my children's novel (not due out till Sept 10th) can be pre-ordered through Borders Books, and Amazon.com (UK and USA and Japan!) and Tesco (!).

Something like successful is what I am feeling.

And jumping for joy, apparently:). That's fabulous news - congratualations. I would just like to get past chapter 4, myself:).

Then when you're past chapter 4 it'll be wanting to get chapter 5 and then past chapter 6 and...

But then getting to the end of thing is when the real work begins... Just when you feel like patting yourself on the back... I hate redrafting and meddling with the original text. Had a very understaning editor who helped me through it all.

Thanks for dropping by, Sandy.

I do understand the revision process...my years as an English teacher, and my current position as a college instructor keep me current on what is coming up. But...I will get there, at some point!

Do you belong to a writing group? I think that would help keep me at it, but maybe I'm just looking for excuses for being a bit lazy?:)

Congratulations from a fellow Binnacle honoree. You are having quite a couple of months!

My husband & I have spent quite a bit of time on the Isle of Arran. We miss the lovely people and countryside of Scotland.

Your successes are inspiring.

Just back from two weeks away - one week herding 32 teenagers around Milan and the Italian lakes, and one week camping in Cornwall with family... so glad to be home again and am just quickly catching up with the e-mail pile...

Thanks for dropping in again, Sandy. As to lazy... I am that a lot of the time... but driven sometimes too... and right now the writing fills my head... just like photography fills yours... I used to be an artist and that occupied all my thinking and was all I did... now all I do is write... obsessively.... to others it might seem I am a bit of a bore... but there you go, it works for me.

Thanks too to Elizabeth and congrats on your Binnacle success... I look forward to reading your piece when it is published. I am glad to be an inspiration to you... it's a daunting responsibility :-)

Best to all
